[Technical Data] CNT Dispersion Case Study Using Nanovate

Examples of CNT dispersion and changes in viscosity and resistance values using NanoVate are presented.

This document explains the dispersion of CNTs using the ultra-high pressure wet-type micronization device "NanoVator" with the help of graphs. When using this product for CNT dispersion processing, a phenomenon is observed where the viscosity initially increases and then decreases. Long, thin CNTs become swollen during the process of bundle dispersion, leading to an increase in viscosity, and as the bundles disperse, the viscosity decreases. Viscosity changes can be considered as one indicator for confirming the dispersion state. [Contents] ■ Dispersion of CNTs and viscosity changes ■ CNT dispersion and resistance value changes using NanoVator *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Nano-micronization device

Newly developed micro-particle technology (droplet collision method)

The "G-smasher," a disintegration device using the droplet collision method, employs a Laval nozzle to generate a supersonic air jet and supplies a slurry into the nozzle. The slurry supplied into the nozzle is atomized and accelerated by the adiabatic expansion of compressed air, colliding at high speed with a collision plate. Traditionally, jet mills utilizing Laval nozzles have been widely used for dry grinding, but the particle ejection speed was limited to subsonic (100-200 m/s). In this method, by suppressing the generation of shock waves at the slurry supply section within the nozzle and exploring a stable supply method for the slurry, it became possible to atomize the slurry within the nozzle and accelerate it up to supersonic speeds (360 m/s). Furthermore, since this method supplies the slurry to the air jet for grinding without media, it can reduce contamination caused by wear of seals and media. Additionally, the droplets supplied inside the nozzle are accelerated and simultaneously cooled by the adiabatic expansion of air, which helps to suppress the heat generated during grinding, eliminating the need for a cooling unit.

Nano fine particle generation device "G-smasher" using droplet collision method!

Newly developed micro-particle technology "Droplet Collision Method"! Acceleration up to supersonic speeds (360 m/s) is possible!

The "G-smasher," a crushing device using the droplet collision method, employs a Laval nozzle to generate a supersonic air jet and is capable of supplying slurry into the nozzle. The slurry supplied into the nozzle is atomized and accelerated by the adiabatic expansion of compressed air, colliding at high speed with the impact plate. Traditionally, jet mills utilizing Laval nozzles have been widely used for dry grinding, but the particle injection speed has remained subsonic (100-200 m/s). In this method, by suppressing the generation of shock waves at the slurry supply section within the nozzle and exploring a stable supply method for the slurry, it enables the atomization of the slurry within the nozzle and acceleration up to supersonic speeds (360 m/s). 【Features】 ● Strong Crushing Power The atomized slurry collides with the impact plate at supersonic speeds, providing powerful crushing capability. It can grind down to a finer particle size than air jet mills. ● No Damage The strong shock wave is applied to the droplets in a short time, resulting in minimal damage to the particles. ● No Contamination Since no media is used and there are no high-pressure sealing parts (which wear out), the occurrence of contamination is extremely low.

For researchers and developers involved in nanotechnology, the uniformity and stabilization of insoluble substances and particles is one of the challenges. When substances are reduced to the molecular level, their properties change. This change in properties holds the potential to achieve what was once considered "an extremely difficult task." In the near future, technologies that were once part of science fiction, such as AI, blockchain, IoT, cloud computing, 5G, autonomous driving, and 3D printing, are becoming a reality. Innovation is accelerating across all fields, including electronic components, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, new materials, and chemical products. At the same time, there is growing attention on achieving a "sustainable" society, including clean energy and carbon neutrality. Behind this innovation lies the wisdom passed down from predecessors and the tireless efforts of researchers and developers currently striving for progress. The Systemizer Mini serves as an assistant for researchers and developers in their immense trial and error process. *For more details, please refer to the catalog.

Ultra-high pressure wet-type micronization device "NanoVeta" CNT dispersion *Comparison images currently available

We propose "Damatri System" and "NanoVator" for the uniform dispersion and mixing of carbon nanotubes. Comparison images with propeller stirring are currently available.

Our company manufactures and sells a wet-type micro-pulverization device called "NanoVita," which enables uniform dispersion and mixing of single-layer carbon nanotubes in resin. By processing with high shear force obtained at a maximum pressure of 200 MPa, our "damage-free dispersion treatment" minimizes damage to particles, allowing for the disaggregation of clusters without changing particle size, thus achieving uniform dispersion and mixing. This enables the enhancement of conductivity and thermal conductivity in resin materials, as well as improved heat resistance. ★ You can view product catalogs and materials comparing dispersion quality with propeller stirring treatment and damatari treatment by downloading the PDF. 【Product Features】 ■ Uniform dispersion without damaging particles due to powerful shear force ■ Fully explosion-proof air-type experimental machine, model: NV L-AS ■ Capable of emulsification, dispersion, and crushing tasks with a single unit ■ Media-less type with low risk of metal contamination ■ Development for films, mechanical parts, and medical fields, etc.
